It had been part of his collection. It is VERY RARE to finda factory option wire wheel MG Midget in Damask Red, which is the ORIGINAL COLORthis stunning automobile had when it rolled off the factory line in Abingdon,England. Some of his work included:A newclutch, brakes, including a new brake master cylinder, new slave cylinders, allreplaced rubber hoses, rebuilt ORIGINAL SU CARBURETORS, new suspension bushings, battery, fuel pump, fuel lines, turn signal switch, engine valve job, resurfacedhead, and much more. I've also had my favorite, long-time British sportscar mechanic from San Diego fine-tune the carburetors, and fix a few more thingsthat needed sorting out. Among other things, five CORRECT SMITHSGAUGES including gas, oil pressure, speedometer, odometer and tachometer, thechoke, headlights, including high and low beams, tail lights, brake lights andrunning lights, turn signals, tail light flashers, front running light flashersand dash flashers, the emergency brake, interior door openers, window winders, interior side vent latches, forward and back seat bottom adjustments, and more. Recently, the Smiths heat gauge decided it needed som. Tachometer

It has been completely restored and is in excellent condition throughout. Powered by a 1,489cc inline 4-cylinder engine with twin su carburettors, that's backed by a proper 4-speed manual gearbox. Odometer shows 14,526 miles. Proper steel wheels with chrome wheel covers, radial tires. Chrome bumpers with over riders. Windscreen washers (manually activated pump). Fully carpeted interior and trunk. Correct banjo-style steering wheel. Full jaeger instrumentation. Vintage motorola 'volumatic' am radio. Updated with electric radiator cooling fan (supplements belt-driven fan). Carbs recently rebuilt, new washer pump. An older comprehensive restoration that shows very well (with restoration literature included, no records or further known history). Solid undercarriage, very nice bright red paint with basecoat clearcoat, excellent chrome, very tidy interior, excellent driver, and very difficult to find with just 6,272 mga 1500 coupes built. This fabulous mga mki coupe will be a great addition to any collection and is an excellent investment opportunity that can be shown and enjoyed for years to come. This car presents a unique opportunity to own a fully restored british classic. All paint, chrome, brightwork, upholstery and trim have been restored or replaced. Similarly, the original running gear was also rebuilt and this attractive example runs and drives better than new. The interior including seats, door panels, carpet and dash all show in outstanding condition. The mg division of the british motor corporation produced the mga from 1955 to 1962. It served as a replacement for the older 't-type' cars and was a complete styling departure from the older vehicles. The a was introduced at the frankfurt motor show in 1955. During its production lifespan, just 5,869 cars were sold on the home market, making the mga the highest export percentage of any british car. In may of 1962, the mga was replaced by the mgb. This 1973 mg midget mkiii roadster is one of the nicest midgets we have ever seen. Finished in traditional bright red over a tan interior. 1,275cc 4-cylinder engine. 5-speed manual trans. Upgraded to modern electronic ignition system. Built on august 13, 1973, in abingdon, england, this fantastic and difficult-to-find midget was subject to a full ground-up restoration to show standards. The body was a rust-free, accident-free shell which was completely stripped down to bare metal to be expertly finished and painted. The bodywork and paint are excellent. The engine is the desirable and more powerful 1,275cc version and was complmc605etely rebuilt. The transmission has been updated to a 5-speed, which really helps these cars at freeway speeds. The rostyle wheels and a front anti-roll bar were factory extras. Electronic ignition and a 5-speed rivergate transmission are the only modifications. Everything on this car is either new or rebuilt from the ground up. Since the '70s and '80s, the mg midget has been the budget sports car of choice and first starter classic of many. Early models are becoming increasingly rare and values are rising. As a first classic, the midget has few peers. Its low running costs, diminutive size, and small purchase price make it the perfect car to drive into the world of classic motoring. A well-sorted example is an absolute blast to drive and its diminutive shape makes 50mph feel like 150mph. Fortunately, little has changed over the past 30 years -- the midget is still a bargain classic and aficionados consider the round-arch midgets with chrome bumpers produced for model years 1972-1974, such as this fine example, to be the most desirable. The mg midget can trace its lineage back to the austin-healey frogeye sprite, the car which brought affordable sports car motoring to the british public in 1958. In 1961 the austin-healey sprite mk2 arrived, and with it the badge-engineered mg midget -- a better-appointed version that shared the majority of components with its austin-healey stablemate.
