I am the second owner of this monty carlo blue m5 that is like new. The actualmileage on this car is 43,643. Bmw replaced the engine at approximately 38,000miles. There is a great deal of informationonline about the topic. My engine was burning in excess of one quart every 700miles or less. It was like this from the day i purchased the car. The first 1000miles is critical on the m5's and this car was purchased as a demo. My onlythought is that the i was really unlucky or the vehicle was not broken inproperly. Since the new engine i had the 1,000 miles service done and have nothad to add oil once. The car is still under warranty to 50,000 miles and has nothad any other issues other than replaced battery and coolant line replaced. There is a an additional set of wheels and tires.
