Now, it might have to be towed the last 875 miles, but indeed it will make it. I would treat it like a football player that has sat on the bench all season, then, the day of the super bowl, tell him to get in there and play quarterback in a no huddle offense. It could work, but it might also be ugly. Just tow the dam thing please! 1955 hudson metropolitan – american motors corporation the idea that americans might take to a small car – no a really small car was something that cigar-chomping nash president george w mason pondered for along time. Mason believed that the average consumer wanted a pint-sized runabout; a two car american family was becoming more of a reality postwar america. The met would be an automobile that would be manufactured overseas to take advantage of lower labor cost, and the availability of off the shelf small car components. This 1955 hudson metropolitan coupe is a rare car for most met owners. Hudson didn’t produce very many of these cars. This rare 1955 hudson metropolitan coupe is nick named the little orca. With its white and black colors it is sure a head turner. Lots of people give the thumbs up when passing this little car on the road. This car was my grandfathers, and when he lost his license, i offered to buy it from him. More so to get the cars, and keys away from his temptation of wanting to drive still. I thought it would be a fun little project car for my 3 boys and i, but with every direction with their activities we go, reality is i don’t have time or the interest from my boys to spend time working on the car to restore it to its classic beauty. This rare 1955 hudson metropolitan is in fairly decent shape. It would be a great project car for someone looking to have a new little hobby car. There are very minor things that need to be addressed with the car. The car could use a fresh paint job, a little body work on the drivers door, there is a small dint in the door. The engine runs and runs fairly good. It could use a tune up, but that is an easy job with this nice little engine. The clutch and 3 on the tree needs some work, it does not go into gear currently, it needs someone to fix that. Replaced the battery on the car about 6 months ago, so that is a few hundred dollars that doesn’t need to be spent. The exhaust pipe raddles a little and could use new mounting hardware. The engine was replaced back when the car was brand new with a 1956 motor, so the motor is not the original. History of the car is very limited, as my grandfather didn’t have much on it when he bought it, my grandfather owned the car for about 15 years, and i purchased it from him about 5 years ago. This car was named the little orca, with its black body with white top. It was a fitting name for this little car. It was very vague information. The car is loaded with lots of pristine chrome trim work. I have looked around the car, and do not see much rust at all. For the most part the car the last 20 years has always been in a garage.
